Rakesh Bedi began his film career with a supporting role in the 1979 film Hamare Tumhare, which starred Sanjeev Kumar. He then appeared in over 150 films and several TV serials. Some of his most memorable roles include the 1981 film Chashme Buddoor with Farooq Shaikh, as well as Ek Duuje Ke Liye and Ravi Baswani. On television, he acted in the sitcoms Shrimaan Shrimati (1995), Yes Boss and Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi (1984), the latter written by Sharad Joshi and directed by Kundan Shah. He also had a minor role in Gulzar's Mere Apne and has acted in Punjabi movies such as Main Tu Assi Tussi. In recent years, Bedi has appeared in films like Coolie No. 1 (2020) as Driver, Indoo Ki Jawani (2020) as Prem, Mister Mummy (2022), and in 2023 he was seen in Shehzada as Samara's Father, Gadar 2 as Ved Keemati Lal, Chhatriwali as Madan, and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke as Harcharan Chawla. In 2024, he played Babbi Bhatti in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video and Papa in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. He is set to appear as Jameel Jamali in Dhurandhar (2025) and Dhurandhar: The Revenge (2026).
