Alpha story (no spoilers)
Sita is a highly trained assassin who was raised in isolation as a super-soldier by a rogue commander. When she uncovers the dark truth about her family and her stolen childhood, she joins forces with her long-lost sister, Durga. Together, they set out to take down the man who created her and his illicit military program. The Hindi and English action thriller runs 141 minutes and is directed by Shiv Rawail. The film pairs a revenge-driven mission with a sisterly bond at its core, and the tone stays tense and grounded as Sita confronts the people who turned her into a weapon. Expect a focused, character-led conflict rather than a sprawling war story.
Should you watch Alpha?
Watch it for
- Alia Bhatt plays Sita, a trained assassin, and Sharvari plays her long-lost sister Durga, so the film rests on their shared mission against the commander who raised Sita.
- Bobby Deol appears as Fateh Singh Lakhawat / Major Zarrar Khan, and Anil Kapoor plays Vikrant Kaul, adding heavyweight presence to the action-thriller cast.
- Director Shiv Rawail works from a script that blends action and thriller beats across 141 minutes, with music by Sanchit Balhara, Ankit Balhara, Abeer Pandit and Rohansh Pandit.
- The story is built around Sita discovering the truth about her stolen childhood and teaming up with Durga to dismantle an illicit military program, which gives the action a personal stake.
Skip it if
- You want a light or family-oriented watch; the film is an action thriller with a U/A 16+ certificate, so its tone is aimed at older viewers.
- You prefer films with a large ensemble spread across many subplots; the core here is Sita and Durga's mission against her creator.
- You are looking for a short runtime; at 141 minutes, the film asks for a longer sitting.

Our verdict
Alpha is a straightforward action thriller that leans on Alia Bhatt and Sharvari as Sita and Durga, with Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in key roles. The 141-minute runtime and U/A 16+ certificate signal a serious, action-forward tone rather than a family outing. If you like mission-driven Hindi thrillers with a personal revenge angle, this one fits that brief.
