Leila story (no spoilers)
Leila is a Hindi-language dystopian drama series created by Urmi Juvekar. Set in the forgotten margins of segregated communities in a future society, the story follows Shalini Pathak, played by Huma Qureshi, as she searches for the daughter she lost upon her arrest years earlier. The show blends elements of war and politics, sci-fi and fantasy, and drama to explore a mother's determination in a harsh, divided world. All six episodes of the single season premiered on Netflix on 14 June 2019, with each episode running about 48 minutes. The series is directed by Deepa Mehta, Shanker Raman, and Pawan Kumar, and also stars Siddharth, Rahul Khanna, Adarsh Gourav, Sanjay Suri, Vidhi Chitalia, Arif Zakaria, and Akash Khurana. The tone is somber and tense, focusing on loss and survival rather than action spectacle. Leila has ended after one season, so the complete story is available to stream.
