Hostel Daze story (no spoilers)
Hostel Daze is a Hindi comedy-drama series that premiered on Prime Video on 13 December 2019. Created by Sameer Saxena and Saurabh Khanna, it follows four naive and vulnerable wing-mates—Chirag, Jaat, Jhantoo and Rakhi—as they jostle hard to survive their first semester in a hostel. The show is peppered with the absurdities, chutzpahs, clashes and debacles inherent to hostel life, depicting the grill that every Indian hostel-resident goes through. Across four seasons, the series tracks these bonds as they develop, with the final season premiering on 27 September 2023 and the show ending after that. Episodes typically run about 32 minutes, and the tone balances drama and comedy while carrying an A certificate in India. The main conflict is the everyday struggle of adjusting to hostel rules, roommates and the pressures of campus life, all filtered through the show's humorous lens.

Our verdict
Hostel Daze is an honest, funny look at the mess of first-semester hostel life, carried by a cast that stayed with it for all four seasons. Its short seasons and 32-minute episodes make it easy to dip into, though the A certificate means it is not for younger viewers. If you have ever shared a wing with strangers, the show's absurdities will feel familiar.
