Meiyazhagan story (no spoilers)
Meiyazhagan follows Arulmozhi Varman, who returns to his native Thanjavur after twenty-two years to attend his cousin's wedding. Still grieving the home he lost, Arul is caught off guard when a cheerful stranger, Meiyazhagan, greets him like an old friend—yet Arul has no memory of ever meeting him. As the wedding celebrations unfold, Meiyazhagan gently helps Arul piece together forgotten connections to his past. The film is a Tamil family drama that leans on warmth and nostalgia rather than conflict, with a runtime of 177 minutes and a U certificate. Arvind Swamy plays Arul, Karthi plays the upbeat Meiyazhagan, and C. Prem Kumar directs. The tone is gentle and reflective, focusing on reconnection and the quiet joy of rediscovering roots.

Our verdict
Meiyazhagan is a warm, unhurried family drama that uses its 177-minute runtime to explore memory and belonging. Arvind Swamy and Karthi anchor the film with a gentle chemistry, and C. Prem Kumar's direction keeps the tone reflective. It won't suit viewers seeking fast-paced thrills, but for those who enjoy emotional Tamil cinema, it's a rewarding watch.
