Our verdict
Kantara - A Legend: Chapter 1 expands the franchise with a prequel-like story set in the Kadamba reign. Rishab Shetty's dual role as director and lead, supported by Jayaram and Gulshan Devaiah, gives the film a solid ensemble. The 165-minute runtime and fantasy elements make it a demanding watch, but fans of the original will find plenty to engage with.
