Idhayam Murali story (no spoilers)
Idhayam Murali is a Tamil romance comedy-drama centred on a young man named Idhaya, played by Atharvaa Murali. The film follows his journey through the complexities of unrequited love, showing how certain emotions stay embedded in his heart even as years pass and life takes unexpected turns. The tagline, 'The One Side', points to the one-sided nature of his feelings. Around him are Samantha, also called Samyuktha (Preity Mukhundhan), Amudha (Kayadu Lohar), Thangam Mama (Natarajan Subramaniam), Prabhu (Rakshan), Lara Dominic (Niharika NM), Sachin (S. Thaman) and Priya (Angelin B). Directed by Aakash Baskaran with music by S. Thaman, the film blends light comedy with romantic drama over a 164-minute runtime. The tone is gentle and reflective rather than heavy, tracking how Idhaya's attachment persists through changing circumstances. It is a U/A 13+ film in Tamil, releasing in theatres on 10 July 2026.
