Beast story (no spoilers)
Beast is a Tamil action-comedy starring Vijay as Veera Raghavan, a former RAW officer. On a trip to a mall with Preethi (Pooja Hegde), he finds himself among the hostages when terrorists led by Shine Tom Chacko seize the building. The group demands the release of a dreaded terrorist whom Veera had helped imprison at great personal cost. Now trapped inside, Veera must use his skills to foil their plans and prevent the government from giving in. The film mixes tense hostage situations with lighter moments, including characters like Jill (Yogi Babu) and Jack (Redin Kingsley). Directed by Nelson, with music by Anirudh Ravichander, Beast runs 155 minutes and carries a UA certificate.

Our verdict
Beast delivers Vijay in a dual-action-comedy setup with a hostage crisis at its core. The 155-minute runtime and tonal shifts between tension and comedy may divide viewers, but fans of the star and director Nelson's style will find moments to enjoy. It's a straightforward action entertainer with a UA certificate.
