Before acting, Rana Daggubati worked as a visual effects producer and co-produced the Telugu film Bommalata (2004), which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu. He made his acting debut in Sekhar Kammula's political drama Leader (2010), for which he won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut – South. His Hindi debut came with Dum Maaro Dum (2011). He then appeared in Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum (2012). In 2015, he played Bhallaladeva in S. S. Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Beginning, a role he reprised in Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017); his performance in the first film earned him the Nandi Award for Best Villain. Other 2015 releases include Rudhramadevi as Prince Chalukya Veerabhadra and Baby as Jai Singh Rathod. In 2017, he starred in The Ghazi Attack as Arjun Varma and in Nene Raju Nene Mantri as Jogendra. He also hosted the celebrity talk show No. 1 Yaari with Rana. In 2019, he appeared in Housefull 4 as Raja Gama / Pappu Rangeela and in N.T.R: Kathanayakudu as Nara Chandrababu Naidu. He produced Krishna and His Leela (2020) and C/o Kancharapalem (2018). In 2021, he starred in Haathi Mere Saathi / Aranya. He played Daniel "Danny" Shekar in Bheemla Nayak (2022) and Dr. Ravi Shankar "Aranya / Ravanna" in Viraata Parvam (2022). In 2023, he starred alongside Venkatesh in the crime drama series Rana Naidu and made a special appearance as Arjun in Spy. His 2024 release was Vettaiyan, where he played Natraj 'Nat' Shanmugam. Upcoming films include Kaantha (2025) as Phoenix and as producer, Mirai (2025) as Jaithraya, Uppu Kappurambu (2025) as narrator, 3BHK (2025) as House - Telugu (voice), Bāhubali: The Epic (2025) as Bhallaladeva, and Parasakthi (2026) as Michael Reddy.
